What is MS-DOS in Computer System?

The MSDOS stands for Microsoft Disk Operating System.

The Dos is a single-user operating system.

In simple words, a single user can operate this operating system, and it was unable to communicate with them in the form of computer networking for data and resources sharing.

They are equipped with a text-based interface or character user interface (CUI) operating system.

This operating user must know the command line or command shell to perform some task or job.

This operating system used text format for processing and handling instructions.

The DOS operating system uses computer memory which is later processed to derive a result.

The primary input device of such an operating system is Keyboard, which is predominately used to enter some raw data into the computer system and later to obtain the desired result.

The MSDOS is installed in a computer hard disk drive so that the file handling and processing can be made easy to use, such as open, delete, update, rename, etc.

The printers and other peripherals devices were able to configure themselves with MSDOS.

The DOS operating system can be used and accessed with and only with dos commands that run on the dos shell or command line.

The users who are well aware of these commands can easily use dos; on the other hand, unaware users can find it a little bit difficult.
